Intent

• To break down the barriers pupils have with numeracy (Maths).
• To create the confidence and ability to tackle functional maths problems.
• To inspire all students to develop a love of numeracy (Maths).
• To encourage the students to learn from their mistakes and reflect on their numeracy skills, so they can improve.
• To provide students with the core numeracy skills and as well as applying them to real life contexts
• To encourage students to be independent mathematicians, where students take ownership of their learning.
• To guide students to able to analyse their answers and determine if their answer is correct, or at least have the confidence to know their solutions seem sensible.
• To prepare students for all qualifications taken in key stage 4 and key stage 5.
