John Madejski Academy

Behaviour

John Madejski Academy believes that in order to enable effective teaching and learning to take place, good behaviour in all aspects of school life is essential. The behaviour management policy is firmly embedded in the Student Charter. Good behaviour is recognised and rewarded and behaviour that is not supportive to learning is always challenged through the school P/C system (positive/consequence).

John Madejski Academy promotes a culture for learning based on respect, knowing all our students, and taking a warm/strict approach to behaviour. We promote the JMA school values at all times; Be kind, work hard. This allows all students to access a calm environment for learning without distractions or poor behaviour.

John Madejski Academy rewards students through House Points, Learner of the Week awards and reward evenings to give awards for subjects and students receiving House Points. For more about our house system please see the Houses tab on the website.

Parents/carers are able to check their child's behaviour points through Sims Parent App at any point. When first logging in to Sims Parent App parents/carers will be required to set their own password.

For further information please read our behaviour policy which can be found on our school policies and documents page.
