Year 9 Maths students impress Reading University's trainee teachers

On 21st February, a group of 16 PGCS students from Reading University visited the JMA Mathematics department and delivered a lesson to Year 9 students on problem-solving. Students were very enthusiastic, engaged and enjoyed the lesson.

The students were a real credit to the Academy with excellent behaviour and attitude to learning. This was highlighted in the feedback from Dr Curtis and the trainee teachers who were very positive about the experience.

“Thank you so much for allowing our trainee teachers to teach your students.  Our trainees were really positive about the experience, and commented on how open your students were to learning and trying new things.  …………..a pleasant atmosphere, with strong routines and good behaviour, and students who were able to make progress and understand some challenging ideas.”
