‘Business in the Community’ alongside a number of local Reading Businesses offered our Year 9 students the opportunity to attend a fun and inspiring session of employability activities held at Green Park Conference Centre. This was a fantastic opportunity for students as they prepare to choose their GCSE options.
The aim of the event was to help young people build employability skills which are vital in today’s ever-changing world of work. During the session, students had the opportunity to meet professionals from different disciplines and develop their own employability skills through interactive workshops.
The business professional helped students to discover just how many career paths could be open to them and the range of industries they could be working in, as well as giving advice about the relevant qualifications required. The students also had the opportunity to show off their excellent team building skills, working together to build a tower of cups without using their hands!
